Indications
Colber ® is a food supplement that, thanks to its main component, the extract of the bergamot juice, contributes to the maintenance of the physiological levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood. Flavonoids, a particular class of polyphenols present in high quantities (60%) in the bergamot extract in Colber, have demonstrated, in recent clinical studies, to exercise significant action on the metabolism of cholesterol and triglycerides, thanks to the interaction With the HMG-COA reductase, the enzyme on which the statins act. Fitosterols, steroid components of plant cell membranes have shown to have a reducing action of cholesterol absorption in the intestine, thanks to their highest affinity for endogenous conveyors of sterols. The artichoke, from the known choleretic and colagoge properties, is useful in increasing the excretion of cholesterol through the bile. Vitamin C, together with the flavonoids of bergamot juice, exercises an antioxidant action useful in controlling oxidative damages induced by dislipidemia, avoiding the oxidation of LDLs.
