Description and characteristics
Cistiflux A Plus is a food supplement based on high title blueberry extract in type A proantocyanide (36 mg per sachet) and D-Mannosius (500 mg). The title in type A proanthocyanine is guaranteed by the use of a validated and highly sensitive method, known as DMAC (from the name of the colorimetric reagent used, the dimethylaminocinnamaldehyde). The cranberry (American Cranberry) is a deep red berry, originally from some areas of northern America, which has been considered a food from many healthy properties for centuries. Today, it is mainly used as a complement in subjects who suffer from low urinary tract infections of bacterial origin, a very annoying and irritating condition. More than 80% of low urinary tract infections (bladder and urethra) is caused by uropathogenic strains of an intestinal bacterium, Escherichia coli. The cranberry contains several phytochemical components, in particular proantocyanidine (PACS), which favor the elimination with the urine of the uropathogen bacterial strains, in particular of E. coli, because they contrast the adhesion to the walls of the urinary tract.
Charity properties of cranberry and d-mannosium
The benefits of cranberry are mainly attributed to the proanthocyanins, which interfere with the adhesion of uropathogenic bacteria to the bladder mucosa. These uropathogenic strains rely on the adhesive capacity of the P-type fimbrie for colonization, first step for an infectious process.

The proantocyanidines (PACS) especially of type A present in the Cranberry, as demonstrated by experiments in vitro and in vivo, act going to inhibit the fimbrie of type P, reducing the capacity of bacteria to adhere to cells and colonize them.
D-Mannosio has the ability to counteract the adhesion of E. Uropatogeni to the mucous membranes of urinary tracts by promoting the elimination through urine.

Warnings
Cranberry can interact with vitamin K antagonists (eg warfarin), reducing the metabolization by cytochrome CYP 2C9. In subjects being treated with these drugs, in order to avoid the risk of bleeding, the intake of Cistiflux to Plus must take place under medical supervision. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Excessive consumption can have laxative effects. Keep out of reach of children under the age of three. Supplements should not be understood as substitutes of a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Cistiflux A Plus generally does not present side effects and contraindications if not in patients notoriously sensitive to the components contained in the product. Cistiflux A Plus can be used in pregnancy. In this case it is recommended to hear the advice of the doctor before taking any kind of product. Keep in a cold and dry place.
